Oozle Defense was a small game I developed to help people just getting started with the Patriot missile system memorize a set of enumerated info that I can't really give specifics on.

Incoming missiles threaten a populated area- it's on you to choose the right answer for each missile and launch interceptors before they can destroy the city. Do your best as the titular oozlefinch to survive the onslaught for as long as possible. It's intentionally modeled after what an air battle might look like if we used pixel art for situational awareness instead of CRT displays.

And if you were outside the van for whatever reason. I guess.

Anyway, the theory is that if you can memorize the data and employ it under pressure, you should have no problem replicating it in other situations. There are a variety of difficulty levels and options to give the greatest flexibility on the most appropriate challenge for a given student. One feature I'm pretty proud of is the DANGER level - too many wrong answers and you'll find yourself in more trouble than you started with.

Success? A test with related subject matter that took out 80% of a BOLC class took out closer to 40% with this tool in play. I'd like to take credit, but there are enough confounding variables it's hard to say the game alone was the sole reason for that improvement. I had a dialogue with the Air Defense Artillery Commandant about this project, but I'm still waiting to hear back if there's any way the schoolhouse can use this. Honestly, it was fun enough to make and it definitely did help a few people out so I'm not too bothered either way.

If you want to give it a go I keep a demo version available at https://realmtiel.com/oozle and if you want to browse the source it's at https://github.com/bktiel/oozlefinch.
